Due to the amount of incorrect and attack comments I have disabled them. This is a video shot in Baton Rouge, LA. The substations are all Standard Definition Digital TV.. the flagship stations are all High Def.. The point at the time was that most cable stations, including mine only had the locals plus about 3 other stations on their package AND were charging extra.. Look at the date I shot this video. .Cable stations back then were just starting to add more HD channels.. Now, my provider offers over 60 of them so the extra fees are now justifiable.. .However in box rental and serivice fees to get the locals + I think it was five cable stations was not worth it then when half of the stations I could get for free in HD anyway.. This video is dated in the sense that you can do this instead of paying a provider for the HD channels.. Again, consider when this video was recorded and how many HD channels were available then versus now.. Personally if your provider like mine has over 60 HD channels then pay em, it's worth it.. However when including the five locals you have 10 stations available in HD, and add the extra digital gateway fees and box rental. .the extra 20 dollars a month was not worth it then when half the stations could be (and still can be) had for free, in better quality.. The fact still stands that providers still do compress their signal on all stations.. Over the air HD is not compressed.. The only loss you will get is if the station decided to have a HD ...
